The Co-operative College. The Co-operative College is an educational charity, founded in 1919, serving the co-operative sector in the UK and globally. Throughout its history the College has developed four key areas of work:
Today the College works with all the major co-operative societies in the UK and delivers programmes around the world. It manages the Rochdale Pioneers Museum, regarded by many as the birthplace of the modern co-operative movement, and the National Co-operative Archive collections. It also works to bring the co-operative message to new generations, pioneering work with schools and young people, including developing new models to run schools as co-operatives. The College has developed a broad range of partnerships to support its work including NGOs, colleges, universities and other training providers around the world. That partnership approach epitomises all of our work and we are always happy to explore how we can work with new organisations to help build successful co-operative and mutual businesses. Quote of the Week "In an age where community involvement and partnerships with civil society are increasingly being recognized as indispensable, there is clearly a growing potential for cooperative development and renewal worldwide."
