Annual Report for 2007

In his introduction to the 2007 College Annual Report, David Gibson CBE, Chair of the Board of Governors said:

"2007 was an important year in the life of the Co-operative College, building on the foundations for growth laid previously and developing new areas of work that will have a significant impact in 2008 and beyond.

We were successful in extending our work in the four key areas of the College’s operation: work with managers and members, work with schools and young people, work safeguarding and using our co-operative heritage, and work with the co-operative movement globally.

The Board has maintained a clear focus on providing learning programmes and services to strengthen and build the co-operative sector, through effective partnerships. We remain confident of the role that co-operatives can play in a twenty first century mixed economy, and that the College is well equipped to support the growth of the movement.

In 2007 the Board and Trustee approved a revised Mission and Strategic Objectives to help us progress towards the achievement of our vision ‘to be the world leader in co-operative learning’.

The Board and Trustee record their sincere thanks for the work of the College staff and associates responsible for the progress and successes reported and to the Co-operative Group and Co-operativesUK for their support in establishing the Co-operative Heritage Trust and endowment fund that together secure the long term future of our co-operative heritage."
