The Member and Director Framework
The Member and Director Framework is designed to develop your knowledge, understanding and skills as an effective co-operator. The framework is externally recognised and accredited through Edexcel - an important step for the co-operative, mutual and social enterprise sector.
The framework consists of four programmes:
- Intermediate Award in Co-operation and Mutuality
- Intermediate Certificate in Co-operation and Mutuality
- Advanced Diploma in Co-operative and Mutual Directorship
- Professional Diploma in Co-operative and Mutual Directorship
- Specialist Units
The programmes can be tailored to meet the needs of individual societies and delivered "in-house". The feedback from the courses has been excellent but don't take out word for it - this is what they say.

Intermediate
Award in Co-operation and Mutuality
(6 Units: All Core)
This course is for those who wish to increase their knowledge of the co-operative movement. It is delivered as a series of 1-day units with assessment during the workshops.

Advanced
Diploma in Co-operative and Mutual Directorship
(9 Units: 6 Core, 3 Optional)
The Diploma is aimed at co-operative, mutual and social enterprise directors who wish to extend their skills and knowledge of the broader context of the movement. It is delivered as a series of individual 1 and 2 day units. Assessment occurs both in each workshop and one post-course assignment or project.

Diploma in Co-operative and Mutual Directorship
(8 Units: All Core)
The Professional Diploma provides a firm grounding and a heightened awareness of the skills and knowledge required to be an effective co-operative director, as well as providing a forum for exploring relevant issues associated with the role.
Assessment for this course will be by a post-course project or assessment.
