North Yorkshire Business Enterprise Partnership and Young Co-operatives Link Up

Turning the story of the Fairtrade farmers into a board game.

about his life and work from students at the
Face-to-Face event in York.
A twelve month programme of activities for schools in North Yorkshire was launched recently with a ‘Face-to-Face’ session where young people from schools in the region had an opportunity to meet Fairtrade producers. This will now be followed up with two continuous professional development (CPD) sessions for primary and secondary teachers that highlight ethical issues in business, and introduce a ‘Fairtrade Challenge’. This is aimed at getting schools throughout the region engaged in projects for Fairtrade Fortnight 2009.
Julie Thorpe, Programme Manager at the College who arranged the programme with the North Yorkshire Business Education Partnership commented,
“This is another example of the ways we are trying to develop Young Co-operatives through new and imaginative partnerships. We aim to embed Young Co-operatives in many schools, and provide a link between Enterprise Week and Fairtrade Fortnight."
