The Co-operative College has teamed up with Mutuo to offer a comprehensive membership
leadership and management support programme to NHS Trusts adopting Foundation status.

The partnership combines Mutuo’s successful membership development work for Foundation
Trusts with the Co-operative College experience of membership, learning and support services to help your Trust make a success of its new governance arrangements.

Greater participation and involvement in hospital trusts by local people, patients, carers and staff represents a significant change in structures, systems and accountability for NHS Foundation Trusts. The success of co-operatives is often down to members and employees feeling that they can make a difference.

The Co-operative College recognises the importance of listening and responding to individual and organisational needs. Our programmes for managers, members and directors are based on extensive training needs analyses carried out with our learners, an approach that has led to increased participation and measurable individual personal development and achievement. We have proven experience of supporting managers, membersand learnersand responding flexibly to their needs.

We understand that your organisation exists to meet the needs of its community, giving people a real say in their hospital, and tailoring its services accordingly. The Co-operative College is an accredited centre for several Awarding Bodies and has developed e-learning and a range of accredited modular programmes and activities for managers, members, governors and directors to enable them to understand and carry out their roles effectively. We deliver our programmes and activities nationwide.

Flexible Delivery and Support

Selected learning modules arenowavailable online, through user-friendly e-learning packages, via distance learning in addition to locally delivered workshops. Our accredited programmes offer a choice of blended learning and assessment methods and flexible ongoing support to learners. The Co-operative College will always take your values and organisational needs into account when working with you on a strategy for membership development and training.

Facilitation and Networking

The Co-operative College can also help by facilitating meetings, forums, joint learning activities, workshops and study visits. In the longer term, we can help the development of networks, promoting dialogue with other membership based organisations and enterprises and working with established networks and College already services, for example for membership and human resources personnel in co-operatives. We can undertake research, evaluation, consultancy and Continuing Professional Development, to assist with embedding change in your organisation. What all this means is that, in terms of your development strategy and training, the Co-operative College already has the in-house expertise, capacity and resources to assist with meeting your development needs, aspirations and challenges.
