FAQs

  • Our pop-up design features private curtained areas in which you will encounter a few locks - they just won’t be on an exit door!

  • Our Quincy Marketplace location lends itself to walk-in tourist and local traffic that we service on an availability basis, but the best way to ensure that the experience and time you want to book will be available would be via online booking.

  • We feature 25 minute experiences.

You must arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled ticket time in order to complete our electronic waivers and be briefed on your game.

  • Your time slot is a reservation. In order to be considered on time, you must arrive at least 5 minutes prior to your scheduled booked time to check in and be briefed on your game. Your reserved timeslot is when you are scheduled to enter your room; if you arrive after this timeslot, you may be unable to play based on previous reservations. We will try to reschedule you provided there are available time slots, but there is no guarantee that there will be. No refunds will be offered for late arrivals or no-shows.

  • Looking for other things to do in the area? Start Here: Faneuil Hall Marketplace is located on Boston’s historic Freedom Trail. It is a short walk from the State, Haymarket, and Government Center MBTA Stations.

  • All our experiences are automatically private and you will never be combined with strangers.

We have several experiences designed specifically for 2 people to accommodate even the smallest of groups.

  • Yes! Bookings are made online; however, if you are in the area and simply walk in, you can always check availability. If there are slots available, our team will assist you and you will be puzzling in no time!

  • Street parking is limited around the Faneuil Hall Marketplace, but there are two parking garages within walking distance.

If taking public transportation, the closest T stop is Haymarket on the Green Line.

  • Because of the split-room concept, the minimum participants per game is 2. Some experiences are designed for larger groups and will prove challenging if not impossible for only 2 people. All of our experiences have a recommended player count.

  • All you will need is yourself and your booking confirmation info. If needed we have storage space available for personal belongings.

  • You are free to keep your phone on you, but we encourage you to put it away for the duration of the experience. We also discourage you from using it to take pictures and sending them to your teammates as that rather defeats the purpose of being separated from them.

  • We do not allow food or beverages in our puzzle rooms.

We have storage space available if you enter with a stash, but best to save them for the victory celebration after you conquer the challenge!

  • For the safety and enjoyment of all players, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone we deem too impaired to play the game.

  • Yes - the entire attraction is located on the main corridor of Quincy Market right near the food court entrance. We can also provide stools or chairs in the rooms for anyone who might need to sit down.

  • We have a recommended age of 13 years or older to experience our rooms. If any members of your party are 13 years old or younger, we require a paying adult chaperone. Children 5 & under are free.

  • While all purchases are final, we understand that sometimes things come up. We will be happy to reschedule your room booking with a minimum of 24 hours advance notice.

In the event that weather conditions prevent our staff from safely coming in to run your experience, we will notify you as soon as possible to provide a full refund or schedule an alternate date! Thank you for your understanding.

  • Sorry, we do not do refunds. We hope you understand that a group holding a booking then cancelling or making date changes creates a bit of a problem for us and affects availability for other guests. Make sure everyone is ready to come before booking your visit.

Based on availability, you may be able to book an experience designed for fewer guests.

First Time Escape Room Tips

  1. When the timer starts, you’ve got 25 minutes and many different puzzles to figure out - so get going!

  2. Communicate with your team about every detail you see. Some things may seem insignifcant to you, but from their perspective on the other side of the wall, it may be the exact piece of information that they are looking for.

  3. You are separated from your team, so listen to everything your teammates have to tell you. Because of this unique situation, you will only ever have access to half of the information. You cannot do this on your own, so rely on your friends to help you on your way.

  4. If you get stumped on a puzzle, that’s okay! All Co-Operatives experiences are designed such that there are always multiple puzzles that you can work on at any given time. If something is proving too difficult, there are also hint cards provided with information about the trickier puzzles in each room.

  5. Never force anything. If it is meant to move, it will do so with only a light amount of pressure. If it feels like you are breaking something, that probably means that you are. If you ever suspect that something is supposed to be working but isn’t, just call us over and we’ll let you know if you are right!

  6. Every lock has a solution, whether it be a number, a word, or even just a key. You will often have to combine information you have with your teammates to assemble the answer to any given puzzle, so be patient with each other and work together to figure out the answer instead of wildly guessing.

  7. At the end of the day, every one of our experiences is intended to create a fun memory for you to share with your friends and family. Winning or losing will always be secondary to if you had a good time - so if you end up defeated, don’t let it get you down!
